Have you ever been to recess at our school? If you have been to recess, you probably know what I’m going to say. If you haven't, than you might learn something. First, what I do is play basketball. If the basketball court is open, than you can play but you gotta bring a basketball. Next, you might play on the swings if there is one open You might like that if you like the feeling of flight. Finally, you can play soccer on the black top. It is really fun and you can kick the ball. Do you have a favorite thing to do at recess? Mine is definitely basketball. I hope you get to play basketball, soccer, or swings at recess.
Tualatin Elementary Arts Foundation or T.E.A.F. is a very fun thing to blog about! The class I am in is the Indoor Sports class. Some other T.E.A.F. classes are chess, Black Bear TV, and cooking. You should sign up for T.E.A.F. I like to play soccer and basketball in Indoor Sports. I’m good at shooting the basketball for nothing but nets. I am also good at assists in soccer. Another class I took was Chess Club. I am very good at chess! I almost won the tournament, but my friend beat me at the rock, paper, scissors game. Kids Cooking is a T.E.A.F. class I want to do. In the cooking class you learn how to prepare recipes using food from the school garden. I also want to do Chess Club again this time. T.E.A.F. is going to be soo fun. I hope you can do T.E.A.F. with me! See you later!
Have you ever been on a field trip? Last week the third graders at our school went on a field trip. We went to see the Portland Youth Philharmonic concert in downtown Portland. You may think how did we get there? We road a bus which is very fun in my opinion. The musicians were very, very loud! They even did Mario music which was cool and Star Wars. In conclusion, I liked the concert a lot! Maybe you might go there someday. It is in downtown Portland. I think you will have a very good time if you go…
Last time we went to Art Lit we did a really fun project inspired by the artist Faith Ringgold! First, we had to draw on a piece of paper with markers and colored pencils. Then, when we were finished we put mod podge on the edges and stuck some little papers on in a quilt design! Last, we had to stick on a little paper that said: "My dream is to_________ ." I said "find a pot of gold!!" In conclusion, the class and I had a lot of fun making this Art Lit project!
Today our class had a pizza party! I was lucky because my lunch buddy came to lunch with me. I am going to tell you all about Mrs. Heath’s class party. We collect box tops to earn money for our school and then classes can win rewards. We won the box tops drawing and had a yummy pizza lunch in the cafeteria. Bellagio’s donated the food for our party. We all loved the cheese pizza. Pizza is better than our regular school lunch. In conclusion, I hope you remember to bring box tops to school!
Have you ever learned about ELD? If not, I will tell you about it. We have a lot of fun in ELD. Our teacher is Mrs. Orme and we have learned a lot of fun things. We do soda explosions. You just need soda and you put in a mento. Then you run so you don’t get wet! One day my teacher brought a cougar and a bobcat from her friend. They were so soft. The bobcat had a long tail. We do reading in ELD. We read about quicksand and animals, and we watch videos about wetlands. Wetlands have a lot of birds. Right now we are learning about the Titanic. I hope you liked reading about my great ELD class. You might go to school and do ELD. I hope you get to do fun stuff and have a great ELD class like me.
Tualatin Elementary has awesome teachers! I’m going to tell you all about my teachers. Mrs. Heath is my third grade teacher. She teaches me math and much more. Miss LePore is my reading teacher. She teaches me how to read a lot of stories. Mrs. Tucker is my Title I teacher. She teaches us how to say words, and we read together. Mrs. Binford teaches ELD. She teaches us how to talk in English. We do fun experiments. All of my teachers help me with a lot of things. I hope you learned something about my teachers.
Did you know that Ms. LePore is the best teacher ever? She is my reading teacher and I am going to tell you about her. Ms. LePore is funny! Did you know that she has a brother that is a dog? That is what she told us. She calls her dog brother. We learn lots of things in her class. Ms. LePore teaches the students about bones of dinosaurs. She lets us play in reading groups when we get 20 points. And sometimes we read in the Journey books. My favorite story was about dinosaurs. Now you know all about Ms. LePore and my reading class.

Have you ever heard the saying "Nature is all around you"? It is fun to be in nature. I love our school because there is nature around it. The birds sing, it’s so good to listen to them. There are also plants and trees. Some plants smell good, some don’t. There are clouds in the sky. The garden has lots of butterflies and cool stuff in nature. In conclusion, you can see that the birds sing outside and there are plants, trees, and butterflies in the garden. Next time you are in nature, what will you see?
