I am going to teach you about the garden here at Tualatin Elementary. The garden is a very fun place to be in. We have a really big cistern that stores very very much water. Our garden teacher is called Mr. Taylor. He is very nice and he teaches TEAF classes. I was in his TEAF class last year. Every year all the classes go to the garden to plant vegetables! Last year we planted tomatoes. This year I do not know what we are going to plant, but I am very excited! I really love the garden!
You are going to learn all about Mrs. Heath’s star students. First, Mrs. Heath picks the first star student and that star student gets to be one for the week. They make a poster to show us. Then, the star student gets to pick one person to sit next to them at the circle table. They also get to eat lunch with two friends. Last, you get to do something that is called star student blog. You can find it on Mrs. Heath’s webpage under the class news tab. I hope I am the next star student!
Have you ever been a Musician of the Month? I have, and it is very fun. If you are planning to be one then read this blog. The Musician of the Month sign has nine months, September to May. Mrs. Hinkle picks the people by: safety, responsibility, and kindness. You have to be very good and it is a very big privilege. Don’t forget that you have to be very good so you can be announced on the loudspeaker and have your name and picture on the sign. So I hope you get Musician of the Month, because it is very fun. So I guess this is, Goooooddbyeeee!!!!
I am writing about report writing. I am going to tell you about animal reports. Animal reports are fun to write. First, you get to pick three animals. Second, the teacher picks your animal. I am writing about bottlenose dolphins. I like researching and learning about my animal. I learned cool facts. Did you know a bottlenose dolphin weighs more than a grand piano? I hope you liked learning about animal reports and the bottlenose dolphin.
How do you get to be the star student? You randomly get chosen with sticks which have your computer number on it. Once you are chosen you get this sheet of paper and then take it home. You fill out the poster with your favorite things. Then you get to go to the star student table and pick a friend to be at the star student table. The whole week you get to sit at the star student table. On Tuesday you write a star student blog. On Wednesday you share the star student poster with the class. On Thursday you eat in the classroom with two people and Mrs. Heath. It was very fun to teach you all about being the awesome star student. You might be chosen to be the next star student! To be continued…
Today we are going to learn about TEAF classes. TEAF stands for Tualatin Elementary Arts Foundation! There are two TEAF classes that I go to. They are called air action and crafty kids. In air action you will make things that can fly and you will test out sound. In crafty kids you are going to do all kinds of art stuff with all kinds of materials. Some day you might want to do one of these TEAF classes. They are both so much fun!
Harry Potter TEAF is so so so fun! In Harry Potter TEAF you get to read the book Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. You also get to play this really fun jelly bean game. We got to spin and get either a good flavor jellybean or a bad one. Watch out! I had to eat vomit and rotten egg jellybeans. You also get placed into a Hogwarts house. I’m in Gryffindor. You get to find out which house you are in from the sorting hat. Hopefully you sign up. You will love it!
I am going to tell you about how we play soccer at recess. First we have a goalkeeper who blocks the ball. Next we play with at least 13 players on the field. Also it is super fun because there are really no rules. My friends are very good players and on soccer teams. We also play in very very muddy fields. Now I have told you everything you need to know about how we play soccer at school.
It’s great to be a third grader. In third grade you get to learn cursive! Cursive is a special kind of handwriting where the letters are joined together. Cursive is fun too and you practice every letter. I like to write my name. If you try, you will get better and be the best writer. In conclusion, cursive is fun!
Do you like music class? In third grade, we are preparing for The Holly Jolly Pirates of Pinataville. We are planning to sing on the stage. There are a lot of kids. The other grades will get to watch our play. We sing in the gym a lot. My favorite song is Arrr. That song is the pirate song. Our music teacher is called Mrs. Hinkle. She teaches us how to sing and play games. We have lots of fun when we sing. Our music teacher is really nice to us. I hope you can watch me sing. If you are there, I will meet you when I am done singing.
