Do you have choir concerts at your school? I do and I really like it! You get to go to the mall and the zoo. There are so many things that you can get to do at the concerts. Like for instance, you get hot cocoa and you get to have your face painted. One place that we sang at is the Tualatin Commons. The other concerts were so amazing I can’t even explain how amazing! This blog photo was taken at our concert at the Washington Square Mall. If you do have choir tell me if you like it. In conclusion, I have told you everything you need to know about choir concerts.
Do you like music at your school? At Tualatin Elementary we have the best music teacher! Her name is Mrs. Hinkle. We learn lots of fun songs in music class. In December we sing holiday music like Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. We also play instruments. I like to play the drums! We play the maracas, piano, and the xylophone. Third grade is performing The Holly Jolly Pirates of Pinataville. The play was moved to Monday, December 12th because it snowed. We had a snow day last Thursday and Friday. In conclusion, music is exciting! I liked being in a play and playing a loud instrument called a guiro.
Have you heard about the other blog articles about this topic? I am one of the specific people that was chosen to not only sing but have lines in the play. I will tell you about my practice every day. We practice a lot. The concert is in December. Beginning in October, we skipped recess everyday to practice. Then From December fifth to seventh, we had huge rehearsals AND and we still skipped recess to practice. We worked hard to memorize our lines. I have 8 lines. Any spare time we have, we pull out the the copy of the script and begin reading. Everyone has their own script. Everyone’s script has their lines highlighted. Everyone who has some lines has to be at the concert in order for the play to be successful. We are only allowed to skip when we are sick. We have to be at practice if we are at school. I have told you about practicing for the play. Hopefully you can come to the play on December 12th, 2016.
Do you like to sing? I do! I go to a TEAF choir class called Beartones Choir. Right now my class is preparing for three big concerts. One concert is at Washington Square mall, one concert is at Starry Lights, and our last concert is at the Oregon Zoo. We have a lot of good singers in the class. There are around 40 kids in choir. It is so much practice for the three concerts. Our teacher is Mrs. Hinkle. She is so nice! She taught all the 16 songs to all 40 of us kids. My favorite song is "Winter Wonderland." Now that is all, have a good day. I hope to see you at one of my concerts!
Have you ever played the trumpet? Do you know how? In the Holly Jolly Pirates of Pinataville concert I play the trumpet. I’m going to tell you about that right now. Let’s get started. Other people play different instruments, I play the trumpet. It is really exciting to be chosen as the trumpet player. It’s really hard but really fun. I’m going to tell you a secret in the end of the article. I have to practice really hard to get the hang of the trumpet so I don’t mess up in the real concert. Because I can get really nervous in the real concert! So it’s really fun to play the trumpet. Shhhhhh! Here’s the secret: I’m not really playing the trumpet. That’s right, I’m not. It is pretend in the real concert. So if you're in the school, watch me play the trumpet and pretend. I hope you liked my blog article. If you want to know when the concert is, it is on December 8th at 6:30. Hope I see you there!
Do you have library at your school? Well we have a great library at our school! My grandma is a volunteer and she helps my class find books. So let's get started. I’m going to tell you what we do when we first get to library. We sit down and listen to our teacher. Then we get up and find a book. If you did not turn in your books, you can look at a book. When you get your books you go to the desk and check out your books! You can get one or two books, and you have two weeks to have them. You can renew your books and have them for more weeks. My favorite section in the library is the nonfiction area. I like it because there are a lot of books about real animals and people. Clearly, you have learned a lot about my library at our school. I’m lucky to have a library at my school.
One thing I love about third grade is recess and lunchtime. We have recess before lunch. At my school we can play on the monkey bars and swing. When I play on the swing I go so high! When I go on the slide I felt like I was falling down! At recess I like to swing on the monkey bars.
At lunch you get to pick what you want to eat. To go to lunch you have to go to your class number and you have to be quiet. Mrs. Heath’s class is number one. You first get fruits and vegetables. Then you give your card to Miss Aggie or you can type in your number. After that you get your hot food.
My favorite foods are quesadillas, eggs, corn, and hot dogs. On Thursday in the morning you get to eat pizza. Sometimes we even have cookies! In conclusion, I have told you about recess and lunch. It is a fun part of the school day.
